Heart Nebula

    This is still a work in progress...but here it goes. It consists of 17 x 3.5min exposures at ISO 800 using a modified EPM2 and 25mm f/1.8 lens at f/4 and Hoya red enhancer. Processed in PixInsight and iphoto. Heart Nebula lrg.jpg

    Looks very nice :) Is that the Double Cluster? I haven't heard of the Heart Nebula, so many ultra-deep-sky wonders getting names nowadays. Makes me feel like "Old Poop of Backwater" - if you know the source of that that quote then :th_salute:

    Thanks! Yes, that's a double cluster above the heart nebula. I know what you mean about the names...but it actually makes it easier to remember than by a number designation (i.e. IC 1805 for example). The other nebula next to the heart nebula is the "soul nebula".
