Got back from Hawaii just under two weeks ago and not really liking reality that much right now lol I almost cried the first day I got back to work. Wished I was still on vacation =P

Anyways, here are a few pics I took. I brought all my lenses there but ended up using the 12-50mm kit lens most of the time. I only used the PL25 for when there's lack of light. I had a 55mm circular polarizer on most of the time, using a 52-55mm step up ring. I ended up getting some vignetting on the corners when I shoot at the 12-13mm range as you can see in one of the pictures below. I need to get a thinner filter haha All the pics are SOOC.

Thanks for looking. Hope I get to go back there again. Best relaxing vacation ever!

Where are these shots taken? My wife and I are headed to Kauai for two weeks at the end of August and I plan on putting the 12-50 to work as well.

    Beuatiful images.

I too would like to know where these were taken, as my wife and I will be in Hawaii in September.

Did you use the dramatic filter in the first shot or how was it processed?

I can answer where one was taken, as I took almost the same picture: the next to last was taken from an overlook just east of Honolulu, looking back toward Hanauma Bay. I'm guessing the first two are from Diamond Head.

I was in Hawaii last month (Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and Big Island) and would be happy to offer a few suggestions. I've got pics from Oahu and a few from Kauai on my Flickr feed, and many more to come.

On Kauai, Waimea Canyon and the overlooks from Koke'e State Park have amazing vistas. Kilauea Lighthouse on the east coast is great for scenery and shorebirds.

Thanks foxtail1 for refreshing my memory, I had actually forgotten where those were taken at lol I only remember Diamond Head but don't remember the other place. I was a passenger most of the time and couldn't remember the name of the places I went to lol Actually all the places you mentioned sounds familiar and I probably went to too. I only stayed in Oahu and didn't island hop. Probably next time I will go to the other islands.

As for the 1st pic, I did use the dramatic filter and then used the miniature one for the 2nd and 3rd pic :D

I was alone and had rental Jeeps and my GPS, so I remember where most of mine were taken.

Yup I see where that's at :D We had a Jeep rental too, but we were using our iphone map to navigate and kept getting lost with those one way streets, but we got the hang of it after a few days lol

A little out of the way, but Polihale State Park on the west coast of Kauai had great vistas for photography. If you're there for a while, I'd add that to my list. The road going in is sandy, but I never had to use 4WD.
