I'm traveling and without my gear but I'm really curious if this can work!
I don't think it works. The iPhone has a different ring configuration in the plug than the SEMA mic if I recall correctly. I will test it for you in a bit, but I seem to remember plugging into the iPhone and MacBook both didn't recognize that anything was there.
Do you mean the little T shaped Mics? They wouldn't work in a phone, because the connections on the pin are different as danimal says. You can plug a stereo headset into a phone and it works due to how those connections are laid out, but the mic part wouldn't work using a basic mic. You'd need an adapter cable.
Any basic mic won't work in a Macbook, because Macbooks don't have mic in ports, they have line-in, which requires a pre-amplified signal. I use a logitech USB headset dongle with mine for headset skype etc to get around the issue.
