Unless you're in Asia, you won't get a factory warranty buying from HK, FYI.

Yep, I took a punt on them for my 17mm 1.8. It took a couple of weeks to arrive in the UK, but the price saving was substantial.

I picked (from their UK store on ebay, using Paypal) a Lumix 20mm f1.7. Excellent price, reasonable speed to have it shipped, tracking code covering the whole trip.

I took the 40-150 pro one month ago from the Italy store, shipped from Holland I think. Unbelievable price (half of the new price, less then used copies), arrived in 6 days (the item was marked with the "ships in 25 hours" badge).
I wrote to them before placing the order asking about the expected delivery date for the item and I never got an answer. So the whole experience was not flawless but in the end I got everything as expected.

Purchased a lens for $640 this year which saved me at least a couple of hundred, no problems.

They tried to sell a refurbed Oly body to a buddy of mine as a new item. He returned it and they stopped returning his messages. He had to get ebay to refund him. Then apparently they trolled his ebay feedback comments and again he had to approach ebay to have the comments removed. So that's a least one unsatisfied customer! :(  He told me that on investigation, it appeared that they've traded under a series of different names — one can draw one's own conclusions as to their likely reasons for doing so.

I'm not sure about the ebay site being connected to the actual eglobal website but I've bought from eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au many times in the last few years and had zero problems. Five camera bodies and numerous lenses so far. I've never had to use their warranty facility but I'm so far ahead, I could virtually write off an expensive lens if I had to. A couple of my workmates have used the same website with similar results.

I've also bought plenty of gear locally too but I still question if it's worth the extra 20-40%. The O12 is currently AU$950 locally but AU$679 over at eglobal. That sort of saving can turn a bloke's head.

My second purchase from eglobalcentral (the UK shop, on ebay, using paypal): this time it was a Samyang 7.5mm. Delivered perfectly within the schedule, at an extremely aggressive price.

My latest purchase (directly from the italian store, Paypal of course) is stuck in "processing" status since a week. Sounds bad. Opened one ticket, no answer. I'll wait a few more days, maybe open another ticket, then I'll go thru the paypal refund process.

For what it's worth (obviously this is an old thread), the 17mm/1.8 is currently on sale in the US from B&H and others for just $349.

My 3rd eglobal central adventure ended well. See my post above, italian store using paypal.

Order placed on the 28th of august, remained in processing for a couple of weeks without any sign of human life on planet eglobal. Then they packed (slowly) and shipped (from France). It was the slowest shipping I ever experienced in my life (Chronopost, never heard about them before): 9 days from Paris to Italy. Anyway, end of the story: Zuiko 12-40 finally here.

Very mixed feelings: the overall buying experience was a disaster, but the price was so good that, waiting from the 28th of august to the 22nd of september is really no big deal for me. I would have struggled to pick a used one for that price.
  16. Recently received a new lens from them. Great price and shipped quickly! No worries here!

Fourth purchase for me, purchased from their ebay account. Things are incredibly smooth and fast when buying on ebay, price competitive as usual.
  18. Have bought three expensive lenses from them without any issues whatsoever.
  19. I'm pretty sure that the eglobal on ebay is nothing to do at all with eglobal Hong Kong. I've bought heaps of stuff from them and saved thousands over the years. I've never had a problem and I'm pretty sure that with the amount of gear that I've bought, that at some time or other I would have had a problem had I bought from other dealers. Statistically it would be likely that I would have got a decentred lens or similar but nope! Nothing ever faulty from them. I saved over $400 buying my canon 100-400mkll from them so the savings aren't to be ignored

I got my Panasonic 100-400mm, 15mm, 42.5mm, Olympus 12-40mm and sigma 16mm from them - all perfect and all for less than used prices.
Their prices go up and down quite a lot, so it's worth keeping an eye on them.

At the moment they have the E-M1ii for £845 and Olympus 25mm f1.2 for £636, which are both quite tempting.
