I posted this on our sister site, seriouscompacts.com:

I live in Huntsville, AL, home to space camp and the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. This year they decided to have a fireworks show right next to the Center. Its not everyday that one sees fireworks launched next to a Saturn V rocket in the same scene. It was pretty amazing. This is only the 3rd time I've in ernest tried to capture fireworks. Worked out pretty well this time. I'm convinced I need a cable release.

    Here's some closeups

    E-PL2    ---    25mm    f/8.0    1/1s    ISO 200

    E-PL2    ---    22mm    f/8.0    1/1s    ISO 200

    E-PL2    ---    24mm    f/8.0    1/1s    ISO 200

    E-PL2    ---    24mm    f/8.0    1/1s    ISO 200

    Some of the Grand Finale

    E-PL2    ---    21mm    f/8.0    2s    ISO 200

    E-PL2    ---    21mm    f/8.0    2s    ISO 200

And this was unexpected. About 10 seconds into the grand finale, the wind shifted and well, this is what happend with all the smoke:

Only thing I see is that you may have focused a pinch too far out. The streaks seem a little "fat". They look good though.

(I bring this up because mFT lenses can focus past infinity)

I opted out of the big shows- and settled for sparklers in the lawn for 5 mins.

Didn't get any good fireworks shots from the show we attended but I took this one for my "summer of photos" challenge yesterday, and thought it fit with the mood of the day:

Thanks! That could be the problem. I didn't realize that they could go past infinity, and I definitely had it as far as it would go. (I thought they looked "fat" too.)
