Well, I registered this domain, mu-43.com, on 12/13/09, and the site "went live" on 12/15/09. Technically, mu-43 is 1-month-old today .

Some highlights so far:

  • Just passed the 500 member mark, about half of which were carried over from Camwk (a deceased general photography forum), and the rest new within the past month
  • Passed the 100-thread mark about a week ago
  • Nearly reached the 1000-post mark
The numbers are encouraging, but the quality goes well beyond that. I think we have terrific members!

I also think that the numbers reinforce the need for such a place as we are building here. Looking around, the :43: subforums seem to be the most active ones on most of the major sites. It's only natural that we should have a dedicated community for all :43: users.

Those of you just joining us, don't be put off by the relative newness of the site. We are committed to keeping this community friendly, positive, and moving in the right direction... and we are here to stay :drinks:.

Congratulations

Congratulations Amin on creating a great site!

I agree with you, the members on this site are growing rapidly and that is an endorsement of the quality and moderation of the site.

It is great to join a site where everyone is as one in thought and desire of getting the best out of their 4/3rds machine and to date we have not (long may it continue) encountered the proverbial "Trolls" or "experts without experience" that seem to abound in many other forums.

We have a great open and friendly group of members all willing to help each other for the benefit of enabling each to maximise the potential of their chosen camera and enjoy and share "tricks of the trade".

Thank you Amin and all other members for making my time to date so enjoyable, and long may it continue!:bravo-009:

I think this could easily become the best m4/3rds forum on the net... in particular, the decision to have a This or That? forum with clear guidelines will make it easy for us to keep those discussions separate from the other areas.

Looking forward to sticking around and helping to make this a nice place to be :bravo-009:

Cheers

Brian

I thought it would be fun to dig this thread back up, having just passed our two month point.

Here again were the numbers at one month:

  • Passed the 100-thread mark about a week ago

Having just passed two months, we've:

  • Nearly reached 1000 members (994 at the time of this post)
  • Passed the 500-thread mark (647 at the time of this post)
  • Flown past the 5000-post mark (7,920 at the time of this post)
And the quality of our membership continues to far exceed the numbers story.

Thanks everyone for making mu-43.com a great home for MFT users on the web :friends:

congratulations

my wife is sending you a bill for the amount of time I have spent on here - but it's been well worth it, (meeting), so many nice guys, (of both sexes - maybe I could have put that better!)

Yes, Bill you could have put that better!

Couldn't agree more about the community and its civilized, but not without humor, discussions and the generous photographic/technical/artistic help that is offered by so many. Many thanks!
