I was wondering what are the benefits of using this setting. Looking at the manual and on the net there's not a lot of information of this setting. I can see how this setting can help to reduced shutter lag if your finger is not on the shutter already holding it half pressed. Also I can see this setting helping somewhat with camera movement at slower shutter speeds, because it takes less pressure on the shutter to take an image. Since it require less pressure to take an image there's less chance of inducing camera movement when pressing the shutter down completely. But other than than what's else is this setting used for? Panasonic does not explain this well.

Thanks.

I think your last statement covers it mostly... I actually use this for my movie presets so I don't need to push hard on the button which could cause a slight dip at beginning of the movie.

Someone at DPReview told me it works well with using AF-ON, back focusing. I can see the benefits of that also.
