I've had this combination for a while, and to be honest I used the 14/GWC1 only for two years as part of my travel kit. Taken about 3K images with it, and never once thought to see how close it would focus. This image is of Mollusc and Gastropods of the Keasey Formation (about 30-35 myo). The penny is for size , many of these specimens are 2-3mm in size. I could have gotten about another 1/2" close but these fossils are fragile and very hard to handle, so I had to live with the reflections from the specimen container. As I said in another post this lens/adapter due to it's very small size is going on a shooting/herping trip this year. But knowing how close this focuses and how well it works with the builtin flash gives me another capability I did not know about. Look at the detail that was captured.

I have the whole three lenses converter kit for the 14mm but I have never used the macro lens. You do give me an idea however.
