As tired as my eyes are regarding GX7 IBIS... I'm curious to gain perspective as to whether or not folks believe it possible for Panasonic to add this function to video in a firmware update. Equally so, what is Panny's track record for firmware updates (if it is possible, how realistic is it for them to do so?) I'm a still shooter first and foremost and base my camera purchase decisions as such. All the same, the potential to creatively branch out in such a small form factor with reasonably smooth video with say, a 120mm FF equivalent (Sigma 60) is of interest to me.

I think it's very unlikely. The 2-axis Oly IBIS never worked in video, and didn't stabilize the viewfinder image before shooting. Many people believed it was because the sensor would get too hot in continuous use. Since the Panasonic IBIS also doesn't stabilize the viewfinder image, I suspect the same issues are at play as regards video.
