GX7 shutter actuation refusal in manual/bulb mode?

Discussion in 'Panasonic Cameras' started by ex machina, Sep 1, 2015.

  1. Hi all,

Did some light painting with a group over the weekend and ran into an issue where I couldn't get the shutter to actuate, seemingly until a certain threshold of light was reached, which meant I missed a lot of stuff. I initially thought this was an autofocus problem, but I'm fairly sure it happened in manual focus mode as well. Any ideas? Thanks!

  2. So if we assume my memory is deficient and this only happened with autofocus-enabled, then does anyone have any ideas on how to make sure the shutter always instantly fires in bulb mode?

If AF was enabled, you may be set to FOCUS priority in Focus/Release Priority under custom menu. You may want to try changing to RELEASE priority and see what that does for you.
  4. Hmm. Thanks, I'll try that.
  5. That didn't help as the camera is still waiting for focus -- turning off Shutter AF did the trick. Thanks for helping me sort through this!
