    Hi all,
Not really sure how new releases go...do you think that cameras with production firmware will be released to reviewers before the camera is available to the public?

Given to some reviewers, yes. But only under an embargo that prohibits them from publishing until the camera is released.

You may see some leaks based on the final camera before that, but full reviews are unlikely to be published until the camera is officially released. Of course, there may be several months in between it's official release, and it's actual availability, especially in the US.

Panasonic is also among the better companies at updating firmware, so even the v.1.0 firmware isn't necessarily the final benchmark.

Yes but firmware beyond v1.0 is much more likely to either implement features or interoperability with future lenses and accessories, or to fix bugs, than it is to make any sort of significant broad range improvement in IQ - other than to fix where specific bugs or problems are found.

Of significant importance to OOC jpg shooters, Panasonic has frequently made material improvements to WB in firmware upgrades, for example.
