On the GX1 we have the great capability of selecting an AF point anywhere in the frame, right into the corners. However, in MF assist mode, the 'zoomed' area can only be chosen from a smaller rectangle, which leaves off the last quarter or so of the frame. Does anyone have any idea why this is? It bugs me a little... it would be nice to accurately manual focus right into the frame corners.

Oh, and another thing. With manual focus assist turned off, it is possible to manually focus when aperture (DOF) preview is selected. However, if you want to use MF assist (zoomed view), then the aperture snaps back to wide open as soon as you try to focus. Does anyone know if there is a technical reason for this?

I'd like to be able to check critical image sharpness at the corners when shooting landscapes from a tripod, so I find these features somewhat frustrating!
