I haven't touched my GX1 in probably over a year, been using the E-M1. I started to shoot with the GX1 and then I get the message "Turn Camera off and then on again"

-Turning off the camera and turning it on again does not fix the problem
-Reformatting my SD card and using a new SD card didn't help
-Restoring my camera to the factory settings didn't help
-Switching to a different lens didn't help

I've tried all kinds of settings on my camera itself and nothing seemed to help, I didn't drop the camera/get it wet or anything. Any ideas anyways?

Doesn't sound like anything user "fixable", something may have "changed" on one of the circuit boards due to long inactivity. Electronics can do this.

Send it to a Panasonic facility for an estimate. If it's going to be a bit expensive to "fix", apply that amount to saving up for a used GX7 while you watch the ads on this site. The GX7 is what the GX1 (as good as it is!) should have been.

Try giving the battery a full charge.
