Snow last night but almost gone today, thawing fast but I wanted to capture a few gritty images.

I went to the park hoping to capture lots of people in a "Lowryesque" style - alas, almost empty! grabbed 3 images then went out to a disused gravel pit to capture the workings and disused rusting machines - results below:

    DMC-GX1    LUMIX G 20/F1.7    20mm    f/4.0    1/1000s    ISO 160

Dramatic stuff! #1 and 2 are my faves.

Yes Hypnomatt, I pretty much keep the 20mm on the camera at all times - it is a magical lens and the results on the GX1 are quite a bit better than those I used to get when using it with the GF1, that G3 sensor does make the difference!

Thanks guys for the feedback - I have yet to try the 14-42X and 45-175X lens and see how they perform, will keep you posted.

Really like the 3rd shot - great contrast between the soft gray clouds and the harsh black and white landscape. Excellent composition and processing. :2thumbs:
