When using back button to set a focus, I noticed that there may be a problem with IS in certain cases. In a normal situation when I keep it pressed, I can hear the IS working. However, in a situation when I just push it once to get a focus, the IS is not working, so when I press a shutter button to take a photo, there is no IS.... At least it seems by the sound of it (or by the lack of sound). Am I doing something wrong?

When you press and hold a focus button you get plenty of time to see and hear the IS working. When you simply take a photo the IS is indeed working but in the fraction of a second it needs to work you won't hear it, especially over the sound of the mechanical shutter firing.
