    erm...so....

    M39 is totally different from LM mount?

    so that means M39 normally will means those from Jupiter/helios..aka russian lens?

    looks like it. M39 is a screwmount. this one looks like a bayonet Leica mount.

    M39 is Leica screw mount - which they used up until the late 1950s. It is also compatible with many of the older Russian rangefinder lenses such as Jupiter, Helios, etc.

    LM is Leica Bayonet mount, used on Leica's M-series rangefinders. The LM mount adapter is shown in the photo.

    The two mounts are different, but M39 lenses can be adapted to Leica M-Bayonet mount pretty easily. The reverse is not possible without losing the ability to focus to far points.
