Guidelines for the 'This or That' forum

We see a fair number of the individuals who are:

    • Trying to decide whether to buy a :43: camera
    • Trying to decide which :43: camera to buy
    • Interested in differences between/amongst various :43: cameras
... and last but not least (in volume), individuals who are:

    • Interested in talking about why their :43: camera or camera brand is the best one
As you might imagine, discussion related to the above can easily go negative, which goes against our mission here at of creating a positive environment for all :43: users. Therefore, I propose the following guidelines for the 'This or That' forum:

    1. All discussion related to the above belongs in the 'This or That' forum, where those who wish to avoid it can do so easily by skipping the whole forum. No big deal if threads are posted in the wrong forum, as we can easily move them here.
    2. Those who are trying to promote the advantages of their camera or brand over another are encouraged to focus on positive aspects of one rather than the negative aspects of the other. This is a suggestion rather than a rule. In other words, we recommend trying to put things in a way that does not inflame others.
    3. When stating an advantage of one camera or brand compared with another, it is helpful to provide examples to illustrate the point.
Overall, what we're trying to say boils down to the following:

    1. All "Which camera should I buy", "GFX compared with E-PX", and similar threads belong in this forum.
    2. Let's keep friendly and positive!
