The skyline matches Seattle, but not yet worked out where you are standing, but am thinking the Lake Washington side.

Certainly a view of downtown Seattle across a lake. But I'd be rather surprised if it's Lake Washington as the aerial imagery shows a ridge in the way.

Yep... The first pic has the actual gas works in the foreground.

Don't recognize the lake/mountain. At first I thought it was Bearhat Mountain near Logan Pass, but Bearhat is much taller/steeper. But maybe somewhere in the Glacier area?

Not Glacier. Further south.

Think I've got it, not Montana but Wyoming, Beartooth Butte, and Beartooth Lake?

Yes, that's it. It's at the south end of Beartooth Highway, once you have crossed into Wyoming from Montana.
