    Looks great !

    Well done.

Are you molding the grip yourself or outsourcing it ? Any chance of replicating the etched surface ?

If you're the first on the scene it just may become quite successful for you....I imagine that there are several custom made grips being designed and made as we speak. I doubt Olympus will hold the current $300 for too long and may even begin to offer a single piece option at some point as well.

That looks awesome. I would love to have one but not sure I can drop the cash after just buying the E-M5...

And if you want the original location on the full thread to see the extra pics ;) Fun with the Olympus OMD - Page 7 - The GetDPI Photography Forums

I was going to brush this off until I saw this retains the battery door functionality. That would be huge for me as it's a big reason I don't buy the OEM grip. Can you confirm this, jlm?

the second finger rests on the top of the grip and can operate the dial, leaving the forefinger free for the shutter and function keys.
The battery door is un-obstructed, as are the card and strap hanger.
the base is grooved to fit a tripod clamp (arca/RRS style) and also has an on-lens-center 1/4-20 tripod socket.
made from solid anodized aluminum, weight 3 oz (80 grams)

This looks much nicer than the OEM grip. Much smoother lines and not as blocky. :)

Even though I have the Oly grip...I am thinking of getting one of these too...Like the ability to change batteries...

    Great work!

I should get one of these. I like the fact that you can change batteries. Is this more comfortable than the Oly grip? If anyone bought one, please do a review.

I would love one with a WOODEN handle ;-).

But look great and very nice to be able to change battery and the tripod socket is at the correct place to.

i did have an inquiry about a user removing the grip portion and making his own custom carving...there are two countersunk clearance holes in the base, so you could screw on an avocado seed if you wanted ;)
