Just saying hi to everyone.. I'm a 19 year old college student at UNLV, studying Mechanical Engineering..

Been interested in photography ever since my Dad let me use his Canon T50, which is still his. I myself acquired a Canon EOS Rebel XSn.. which I still use.. but now supplement its film (and my only EOS lens a 35-105mm f4.5-5.6) with my GF1 (which I saved for months to get), of which I now own a small collection of lenses plus a Nikon SB-15 Flash.

Picture is outdated, but I don't have any other digital camera to take things with. (this one used my sister's! oh the pain of being a broke college student!) Its missing my Canon FD 24mm f2.8.

Anyways, greetings and hello from the City of Sin, the Light of the Desert, and the Home of the Rebels.

Hello and welcome Kade - an impressive collection for a 'youngster'. We talk about GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) here and I suspect your case will not improve with age - mine didn't.

I'll just say.. I skip lunch.. sometimes. (I have to thank ebay and my dad for part of my collection, the FD 50mm was his, as was the Soligor zoom)

The pic of your lady friend is quite striking, and I envy your lens collection!

Hey welcome mate. I'm a young fella like you so i know what it means to be broke- and I even have a full time job. If it weren't for bargains on ebay I wouldn't have half as much ad I do now.

That lens that you have on your GF1 looks almighty impressive. What is it? A canon?

What type of mechanical engineering are you specialising in? I love engineering and the likes but have never done any further tertiary studies but have dabbled in practical model engineering. (practical as in they work but not necessary useful ;-)

    See you round,

Sometimes I feel like I should just block ebay from myself, and the marketplaces on most forums so I don't run out of room to store everything. The lens on my GF1 is a Canon FD 50mm f/1.4

As for my engineering, its focusing into fluid mechanics, but also touching upon dynamics. Personally, after a year of mechanical engineering, and after four or so years of playing round with electronics, I'm debating on switching over to electrical engineering, with a focus on electronics. Its just so hard to decide between the big analogue devices, which run upon kinetic energy or those that form the base of our modern high-tech world, which runs upon the invisible electricity.

    Thanks for the Welcome,
    -Kade
