Anyone knows if gradation settings matter when shooting RAW?

Are you talking about the 'sharpness, saturation' sliders. If you are, these only affect the jpeg output but if you shoot raw they will only affect what you seen on the camera screen. For example, if you have it on black and white and shoot raw the screen will be black and white but the Raw file will be unaffected.

    hope this makes sense.

If you're talking about gradation settings as it applies to Olympus cameras, it's mostly JPEG-only.

There is one small exception with the latest gen Oly cameras (E-P3, E-PM1, and E-PL3) in that the gradation setting also affects the shutter speed slightly. The shutter speed is slightly increased to protect highlights when gradation is set to auto. See the DPR review of the E-P3 for the discussion of this setting.
