Let me know what you think. I'm trying to address the fact that our site's built-in search isn't always the greatest.

Good idea, it's a bit intrusive and dominates the page on mobile though (it's halfway down the page on my Galaxy S5). Any way to show it just with the search pop up on mobile?

I agree it takes up a lot of space.

Haven't tried it on mobile but I really like it on my imac. Based on a few quick searches it looks like it will give much better results. Thanks Amin!

I agree that Google gives better results...

The light box is a little poorly behaved though, at least on Chrome on iOS9.

    Thanks,
    Barry

    Great improvement, Amin.
I entered something 'off the top of my head' and bingo, a relevant return, in an instant!
    Hope it's a 'keeper'.

    guess?
Still consumes a fair bit of screen real estate for only very occasional use. Can it be closed by default with just the magnifying glass? Click to expand.

Now that it's in the header, it takes up very little space. It's filling space that was blank.

OK, I see that it scrolls up and the navigation bars remain. [IMG]

Just my personal view but I try and avoid anything Google, just don't trust them. Remember that I/we/you are their product to sell. Guess I'll not be using the new search then.

The layout now is good. For some reason on the dark theme it's still blue though, looks a little weird but that's just cosmetic.

Understood. I'm not planning on removing the usual site search, so this is just an option.

Thanks for alerting me to that. I can't easily customize the search bar to the theme, so I went ahead and changed the dark theme header to blue. Hope that is okay.
