Had a great time at the US Open the other day with my family. Was close enough to get some nice pics. Hope you enjoy them!

From the EXIF info it looks like the Panasonic 100-300mm.

i used the Panny 100-300 for all of these. The Panny 35-100 didn't have enough reach unfortunately.

These are outstanding. How would you like to also post them in the Panasonic 100-300 showcase thread, please? That lens has its critics and these shots are a good example of what it can do!

Did you have any drama getting the gear into the venue?

No problem at all getting the gear in. I used a shoulder bag, which is permitted (no knapsacks allowed).

Thanks for the compliment. Much appreciated!

Went back to some old photos of Djokovic from 2010 when I was shooting with a Canon 1D3. Take a look at a similar picture of him serving, taken with a modest Canon 70-300 lens. The reach with the Panny 100-300 is so much better. Even a cropped photo with my old gear doesn't compare as well to my new gear. Technology's incessant progress is great! :)

But, there's always something to be said for the improved bokeh that comes from a full frame sensor, even at f/4.0:

I should add a cartoon-like bubble over his head that reads, "Maria, I'm here to serve you..." :)

Nice shots! How would you rate the speed and accuracy of the AF? How was it getting timing right. It's relatively easy to capture a serve, but how about movement along the baseline or action at the net?

is the GH4 using an electronic shutter? there's some distortion in some of the fast moving balls and racquets.
