I've heard from Panny direct it's going to be closer to £1000...

At an increase of nearly £1000 over the GH2, Panasonic have gambled on this camera, for most of us the G5 or GX1 is every camera you could want.
The increase is a big disappointment for me :frown:

Sorry, but this is a pro-spec mu4/3 camera with features that someone like myself who shoots fashion & commercial photography work can use.

It's great that there's an option for something as high-spec like this that differentiate itself from the G5.

The GH3 shouldn't be priced near the G5 with all its feature anyways. That's like being disappointed that the D4 is not priced closer to the D800.

the price in europe will be 1199 euro (body)

I do wonder though, with a big body like this, if there will be a Panasonic 100-400 lens one day :)

The GH2 (body only) was around £1000 at launch, close to the expected release price of the GH3. The GH2 is much cheaper now because it's end of line.

Edit: Sorry, I stand corrected, GH2 was £900 with 14-42mm kit lens.

Oh.. and it's not a full review since no one can read raw files in any raw converter.

Even ignoring the raw file issue, it's nowhere close to a complete review. A lot of vague subjective comments, like "fast", but no objective comparisons to anything meaningful, like the OM-D or similarly priced DSLRs. No comments on how improved the EVF is, nothing about C-AF, nothing about dynamic range other than "improved." And what's with the comparison to the RX100? A leaf shutter P&S. Right, lots of people are going to cross shop those two cameras.

The camera was firmware 0.5, so we still no nothing about the final feature set.

This "review" was pretty much a waste of electrons. Is that site always so useless?

Looks like a full review to me. They even made the RAW files downloadable, which I always appreciate .

Thanks for the heads up, OP.

Raw Therapee (at least I've tried) can open GH3 raw files, but colors are completelly off. Yet probable it could be used to get some idea on luminance noise levels

I agree with arad85 it's an abbreviated review. No sample landscape jpegs or landscape videos, for example.

The "dynamic b&w mode" seems nice.. if you shoot lots of b&w, but I don't know if you can use this in RAW?

You could shoot raw+jpeg, with the jpeg set to B&W, but the raw will always have the color information.
