    Hi Guys
I came across this interesting review of GH3 . Its a beautifullly built camera and offers a brand new sensor. Now on the paper , it all looks beautiful but how much it translates into real is a question mark from a site which specialises in Panny G series for videos .This reviews compares it with GH2 , Nikon D5200 and Canon 5DMkIII.
    Cheers

Thanks for posting that article Bhupinder. Great review from what seems to be a objective reviewer. My GH3 is in the mail and I couldn't be happier with my decision as I want to focus on video so I chose it over the EM5 and other DSLR options from Nikon/Canon. While better is available out there its heck of a lot more expensive as well.

Ordered the Panasonic 25mm F/1.4 as well and Im hoping this will be a winning combo for myself as I was a heavy 50mm shooter on 35mm format. Hopefully follow that lens up with a Oly 45mm and Pan 14mm next month.

    Hhaah Hi Jay
I didnt say its bad .Its a fantastic machine , I was wondering if someone on a right budget would like to consider GH2 instead of this one . You seem to be on the right budget :2thumbs::2thumbs:.Enjoy the camera and do post some pics .
    Cheers

Oh I know you weren't. I just really like the article is all... The reviewer didn't come across as a "fan-boi" or biased which I find is abundant in reviews all over the net (myself included, guilty as charged, lol). Just a good objective review of the pro's and con's.

I still think the EM5 is the better stills camera (the IBIS just puts it over the top for me) but since I have been wanting to do more video work the GH3 just made sense. I have seen some used EM5's for $750 or so and would love to add it as a second body some day.

Im actually really excited to get my gear and start shooting. I dont think I have been this excited since when I first bought the original Canon 5D when it came out (often refereed to as the "5D classic"). I stopped shooting for a while after hitting exhaustion a couple years back and this is my return stint but this time with M43 gear. I think a part of the problem with why I sold off all my gear last time was the sheer heft of it all... a 5d2 + grip + 70-200 = no fun IMO. The "fun" got taken out of shooting and it became more of a "chore" to shoot.

Anyhow, now im just rambling about random stuff that is off topic, lol. I will definitely post some shots when my first lens + GH3 arrives :)

Many videographers now are considering to get cheaper Blackmagic Pocket camera instead of GH3. The capability for RAW video in this blackmagic camera is really game changing. Unless you need the hybrid camera (with video and photo), I can't see the point of GH3. For still photo, EM5 is more attractive than GH3 for its cheaper price and IBIS.

That BMC is a game changer for sure. And what's even better is that it accepts M43 lenses. I didnt go that route for now as I would rather stick with something a little more proven in the Panasonic GH series.

Definitely in the future if it proves it self to be reliable Ill be considering it. I dont think its readily available either at the moment if Im correct? Apparently a waiting time before you get it but I could be wrong.

Let's not start the GH3 vs. OM-D argument all over again. That's not what this thread is about. There are many reasons to choose the GH3 over the OM-D as a stills camera, for some people (and reasons to go the other way for different people). You seem bent on finding ways to criticize the Panasonic in a thread that doesn't need it.

Agreed. I only dabble in video but if I had the cash right now and were to spend it on a brand new M 4/3s body, I would pick up a GH3 over an OM-D without hesitation.

I would also like to point out that there isn't really as clear of a equivalency between the announced Black Magic camera and the GH3 as some are making out - the sensor size and crop factor are completely different for one thing, as well as the handheld handling.
