Just received a used GH2 from Adorama. When I put the panasonic battery in and turn the camera on, I get this message "THIS BATTERY CANNOT BE USED" and the camera shuts off. Any ideas on how to fix or is it a bad GH2?

  2. Did you charge the battery?

well when I turn the camera on, the indicator shows full battery but I'll charge and see if I still get the error.

Is it a real Panasonic battery or an off brand?

Same Q here too, that would usually only happen with a non-Panasonic battery. Optionally, you can load the hacked firmware, which allows you to use 3rd party batteries.

Try taking the battery out and re-inserting. Had this with my G10. After that the 3rd party batteries were recognised.

Recharged the battery and still same error. It looks like an authentic Panasonic battery - although it looks a bit different than this one online:
    Panasonic-GH2-FI_Battery_Image.
Is the one above exactly what mine should look like? my model NO shows DMW-BLC12PP

    DMW-BLC12E looks to be correct.

    Maybe the battery just failed.

no other battery to try so I requested a refund and dropped it off at UPS. Strange that a large company selling a used camera, didn't check that it works before selling.
