    Hello there.

Today i made some macro tests.

This ugly guy was shot only with the 14-140mm:

    Now the Raynox was attached:

    His prey:

His real size is about 2mm:

    Flora:

Joey was shot with the Voigtlander 25mm:

Every foto is handheld. It`s very hard to get something in focus with the Raynox attached.

    Regards,

    MD

Very cool. DOF looks razor thin. What apertures are you shooting?

14-140mm wide open. To my surprise the Lumix lens had no influence to the DOF when changing aperture. Raynox does the job ;).

    The 25mm at f_1.4 - f_2.0, for sharper images.

DoF is a little too thin for my taste though. Did you use flash?
I am currently using Marumi achromat (5 diopter vs raynox's 8 diopter) with Oly 14-150mm at f16 or f22 with flash and get acceptable DoF with fast AF fully working

Yes, DoF is a little to thin for my taste, too. But i tried f_9.0 - f_11 on the 14-140mm and DoF didn`t change. The pics are my first attempt on macro photography, so i have to learn and test more. Maybe i did something wrong? I don`t know.

    No flash was used.

Raynox 250 (8 diopter) is challegning on large sensor cameras because it dramatically reduces DoF. I used to have one and eventually gave up on it and switched to a weaker 5-diopter Marumi Achromat 200. The pic above is a crop at 150mm, f22 and small external flash, AF and handheld (IBIS on). Raynox worked well with Panny 20mm though (especially at f16) but of course nowhere near the level of magnification with the zoom...

Ah, thx. I will keep an eye on Marumi.

BTW, i can`t get under 100mm with the Lumix lens because of the vignetting.

Because Raynox is only 49mm filter but for macro you usually shoot at longer FL for better magnification where there is no vignetting

    I bought Raynox a few years ago for the DSR-250p, a DV-Cam.
I was wondering if it will work with the GH2, so i checked it.
