I just found out that I get a great discount at work and can get the Lumix GH1K camera body with the 14-42 lens for great price. Will I still get great video out of this camera even though it's not the HD lens they come with?

    Yes, but no

You can take good video, but you won't have the virtually silent and continuous focus the 14-140 gives you. The GH1 is a very fine camera, but it begs for the 14-140 lens. I have several lens and I usually reach for the 14-140 as it serves so many applications.

I can get the G2 or the GH1 with the 14-42 lens would the GH1 still be better? The G2 has a touch screen so I think that's faster way to focus. I will never be able to afford the 14-140 lens as it's way too expensive. Are there any other HD certified lenses that are more affortable?

14-42 is not 'HD certified', but it still focuses very fast and virtually silent. It also supports continuous AF in video. The only thing that 14-140 has and all other lenses do not have is stepless aperture.

You'll still get great video regardless of the lens. I've owned the 14-140 and to be honest, I would rather have a 14-42/45 attached to it for greater portability. While they're not as silent as the 14-140, they're pretty close imo.
