Okay, I've had my GF5 for a couple of months now, and been shooting in RAW. The specs say the image size is 4000x3000, and so far iPhoto has stated the images as such. I've started messing with HDR, using Luminance HDR to create the images I overlay to get the effect I like. In it you can select the size of the image, so I of course want the largest to work with, which is 4016x3016. When I pull up my finished HDR and compare it to the RAW in iPhoto, they are different sizes, and you see more in the image from the HDR photos. Does this mean that the sensor actually grabs a bigger image then Panasonic states, and they crop it in the metadata so that image apps, like iPhoto, only use the cropped image? See below. RAW image as iPhoto sees it. HDR image created with the RAW. Notice how there is actually more to the image then I'd see in other apps.
