Just noticed that my recently acquired GF2 won't switch off the LCD or go into sleep mode. It's set up to do so in the menus. I have an LCD protector fitted, could this be fooling the camera into thinking that the screen is being touched and keeping it awake?

    Solved

Fitted a fresh Panasonic battery and did a firmware update and power save works. Hooray. But it wasn't the firmware. The problem was a 3rd party battery (which doesn't show capacity remaining). Anyone else come across this or can recommend a source of 3rd party batteries which don't have this problem?

    Thanks
    Tony

I had some problems with a third party battery for my GH2 when on a hiking trip in the mountains and have since only used genuine Panny batteries since.
Why mess around with cheapo batteries while you spent so much money for the camera?

    3rd part batteries

I didn't spend so much it was second hand. I just resent manufacturers price gouging.
