Hi, any recommendations on a splash proof cover for the GF1? is the best bet one of the generic transparent SLR ones?

Short of something like a 10bar housing, that's probably your best bet.

Yes I've seen those, just a tad expensive. I just want to shoot in the rain not go into the sea or anything.

Opted for one of the more expensive plastic rain coat style ones off ebay, intend to modify it to make it fit better and attach a UV filter permanently too it.

I have never used one - but there was a thread on dpreveiw forums about DiCaPak which looked interesting. I'm not sure how far I'd trust it underwater, but it should be more than enough for inclement weather.

    Hi,

searching the evilbay with "rain cover" in "photo and camera" showed up many suitable items to me.

However, since I have tried any of them, don't blame me if your camera drinks water all the same

I've made a real ghetto rain cover myself using a one-quart freezer bag and some spare velcro strips....

    Worked well enough.
