After all my frustration yesterday finding out that Apple managed to overlook the GF1 in releasing Aperture 3, I spent the afternoon beta testing/fiddling with Kevin Miller's GF1-Aperture RAW converter. In my highly unsystematic testing it works really well. Aperture thinks the files are from the G1, opens them fine, previews them in the finder fine. Everything looks nearly identical to how they do when processed through Lightroom. Had some glitches processing 16:9 files, but I assume since Kevin has actually released it he figured out what was going on there.

Until Apple decides we GF1 users are worthy, use it and enjoy.

Good news about http://facefullofbees.com/ converter modifying GF1 file headers so that Aperture 3 (not earlier versions) treats them as being from a G1. Apparently they also do a converter which makes EP1 or EP2 files look as though they came from the E30, for earlier version of Aperture, though this won't include any lens correction effects. Not sure if they are modifying these for Aperture 3 if any mod is needed.

    Another converter?

Mixed comments so far - provides conversions for GF1, EP1 and EP2 and others. Not tried any of them (or the other supplier) yet as I've been busy, but hope to do so later today. These versions are FREE, so nothing to lose in giving them a try, though no mention yet of what these new ones make the files look like, and hence what optical corrections are applied (if any).
