I took my GF1 to the Carolina Renaissance Festival these past two Saturdays to see how well it stood up to last year when I shot with the
D200. One of the Shows the have had for the past 17 years is the Don Juan and Miguel act. This year Don Juan was working on a new trick. I was going to try and record the trick with my GF1. Stack two Dixie Cups and fill the top one with water. Then use a rawhide whip to remove the bottom cup with out spilling water of the top cup. This was a new trick, and they said that they would try it 5 times and if it didn't work out, they would just continue with the act.

I had my GF1 with the EVF attached. The first try failed for both of us. On the second attempt, I kept both eyes open and when Don Juan started to move the whip I have pressed down the shutter to lock in the focus. Then as he actually tried the trick, it worked for both of us. I am going to try and attach the two pictures to this message, but PhotoShelter seems to have changed the attachment screen, so lets see if this works. If not come to my web page and look at the 2nd week Renaissance pictures. I will be adding about 40 more images to this gallery, but I have over 100 from the
1st weeks take. The GF1 keeps getting better the more I use it.

Images show the technical capabilities of a great camera ... and reveal the truth about Saddam Hussein, alive, kicking and whipping the hell out of plastic cups in Carolina.

HAHA Saddam. Hiding in plain sight!

    That guy has good aim.
