GF1 My Colour Mode

    You know, the thingy that looks like an artist's palette. I stumbled across these the other day and they had some fun effects. The 'Elegant' setting in particular warmed up the jpeg and increased contrast in the shadows. The 'Monochrome' setting was interesting too. Since I shoot Raw + JPEG the experimentation is a bit of fun with no real negatives that I can see.

    However, I found that I had no creative control over the shutter speed and aperture. I had the 20mm on at the time and it seemed to default permanently to f1.7, which wasn't what I wanted at the time.

    Is this normal and part of the way it's set up? Am I missing something? - the manual which came with the camera isn't massively useful in this area.

    Given the lack of forum traffic on them I assume that they are a more quickly dismissed gimmick than their Olympus equivalents.

    Grateful for any light you can shed on this.
