I got my Panasonic GF1 last night. I am really impressed by it's form and shape :). I put the 20mm on it and took couple of test shots and that's when I realized that it's really slow in focusing with 20mm. I have a G1 that focuses much much faster than the GF1. I have used PTool to hack the G1's firmware as it was a Japanese version and had to convert the language to English. I do plan to hack the GF1 for better video capabilities but was curious to know if the focusing speed is really that slow on GF1?

Should be the same as the 20mm on your G1.

The 20/1.7 isn't the fastest focusing lens in the lineup.

I agree ~tc~ but somehow it felt slow. I'll try it again tonight and probably record a video to see if there's a difference.

What kind/type of subject were you focusing on?

I noticed this when I was trying to shift the focus from an object at MFD to an object that was at about 10 ft. The closer one was the laptop screen. The far away object was the TV.
