Well took the GF1+20mm out for a walk today!

Got a few images that I like as well so thought I would share them:

Those are excellent, Ian, and great B&W conversion as well.

That first image is really special, it makes me want to ask so many questions about the couple in it. Did you shoot from the the hip or carefully compose it? I know that I'll be seeing their eyes and wondering what was going through their minds for some time.

    Hi Colin,

I was sat on a bench facing them, had the EVF fitted to the GF1 and tilted it 90 degrees so I was looking down into it, once they became used to my presence and no longer paid me attention, I took the shot and framed it from a lower angle for impact.

  5. Ian, 1st image is my favorite. Another good use for the LVF-1! Thanks for sharing.

Awesome images, Ian! And fantastic tonality. Do I see SilverEFX Pro in your conversions?

SilverEFX is a godsend for B&W conversions!

I have the entire suite of NIK products- but SilverEFX is used the most.

Thanks for the comments - Yes, I do use Silver Efex Pro2 for all my B&W conversions and tend to use the "High Structure" choice as it offers me the end results that I personally like.

Very nice work. The cafe shot, in particular, is so full of life and detail.

I also love SilverEfex, and you use it well. I used the demo version and it spoiled me on every alternative.

    Thank you all.

The GF1 now appears a very much "forgotten camera" in many peoples eyes but for me it is my staple diet when shooting street and other subjects without being too conspicuous.
I am also currently going through a B&W phase and the GF1 images convert very well using SFX, they give that gritty yet sharp image that I love.

Superb B&W work .... the 1st shot is my Fav the others outstanding too.
m43 can deliver ... these images remind me of Leica images of yesteryear.

    Thanks Boyzo,

The reason I got the GF1 in the first place was because it reminds me of the Leica CL of old.
I like to try and replicate some of the image styles I used to shoot when I worked as a PJ many years ago.

Thank you one and all and I will continue to hang on to and use my GF1 until Panasonic finally bring out a genuine "Enthusiast/Pro quality" replacement with the same type of tactile controls found on the GF1.

Took me a few seconds to realise some of the images are of my home city. Wow. Personally I prefer image 5 of the old guy on the bench: lovely composition.
