Stone the crows cobbers, 'bout time we had something about this great country of ours on the forum, seeing that there's enough of us about, so I thought I'd take a fair crack of the whip and what better way to start things off than with a few old mates:

You bl**dy beaudy mate!

OK, a mundane grove of turpentine trees (Syncarpia glomulifera) in our back yard.

You must have loved the dulcet tones coming all day from the cicadas. ;)

Those trees almost look like the ones in our back yard, all around 100' tall with the branches/leaves all at the top, will have to find out what they are one day.

What was that you said? I'm a little deaf from the noise of the cicadas!

I'm not sure the turpentine trees would get to 100' but we cut down a couple of dead ones near the house that were probably 30' (just after last year's devastating fires in the Blue Mountains last year). The photo above was taken near to the ground to just look like they're larger, but would be about the same height (I think). The would splits nicely for our fire now (from last years cut trees).

We've cut down a few for our fire as well, but the wood tends to burn fairly quickly, as these are fairly fast growing trees.

That's a nice view. Apparently there was fog (mist) forecast for around here this morning but the bed sheets were more comfortable for me to notice. We rarely get it here (at 400m) as it usually sits on the upper Mountains or down on the lowlands (Penrith & Richmond) areas. We would really appreciate some rain though. I'm not looking forward to this summer.

Me either, they are nearly impossible to get down south. But given the option, I'd have them over, prawns, lobster or just about any other seafood.
