So we have a brand new nurse Andrew and couple of doctors including myself. I thought we will start a GAS deaddiction Clinic.
We need to recruit some more staff .
Following vacancies are vacant and applications are invited ..
    1) Two camera body psychologists
    2)Four anti-legacy lenses psychotherapists
    3) Three native lens Nurses
    4)One anti DSLR Nurse practioner
    5) Ten Multiformat Consultants - Ned is being offered Post of Prof Emeritus
    6) 20 Pro MFT and anti DSLR Counsellors
Now I think we are gonna be very busy as there are lots of patients around ..
Lets wait for posts to fill up and then we will start counselling patients.
But I can bet MrDough will be our first patient .
    Cheers

Well I don't really have the credentials to qualify for any of these positions but I think I could offer some lay advice regarding GAS in general. i.e. It ain't GAS if you need a better camera. Or even a legitimately different camera.

I don't consider myself a patient. Heck, I didn't even pre-order the E-M5 and haven't bought a camera for over a year. Oh wait, some cameras were attached to Minolta lenses I bought, that doesn't count does it? Sometimes I have lens acquisition attacks but only once a week and they last for about 30 minutes, 5 for making an offer and 25 for unpacking and inspecting them.

No I don't have GAS, I don't have GAS, I don't ... Also, I fully qualify as an anti-DSLR consultant. Sold mine and spent almost all the money on a tripod .

I haven't been on MU43 for a few days, so I'm still catching up. But weren't you supposed to be offline for a couple of weeks because of studies?? Who won the wager?

I have this friend who decided to sell a PL25 in December (he claimed that he didn't think he was going to use it enough and had a fear of snakes), only to turn around and purchase it again this week because he missed the lens.

    Does he have a problem?

Thats a different story . I had a bad GAS which I cured myself .If gas was still there , I would have had a collection of Panny G2, GH2, Olympus EPL3, Canon 60D , Pentax KR, but now what I have is Olympus EPL2 , Sony a33 ( my daughter uses it though) . But yes I am planning to buy Olympus OM D and thats it. GAS is when u concentrate more on getting gears and less on photography. Anyway its more of a fun .
    Cheers

I don't like bragging too much.

But this time I think I need to say something. I am a physician too and I work in the mental health field here in the US. I have never encountered the term deaddiction.

Before I type anything, I sometimes think about it not just 2x.

While I can't find it in any dictionaries.....our language is constantly evolving.

Alcoholism and De-Addiction - Diseases and Conditions- WebHealthCentre.com
    deaddiction
    De Addiction

It seems that de-addiction is on the cusp of becoming a word. I also went in search of a word that means the same and there really isn't a good one. This is how new words are born. And grammatically, it's perfect......the prefix "de" means to move away from.

I also like how close it is to the word dedicated..... which you need to be, to truly become deaddicted ;)
