Interesting. You may lose a tiny bit of stability but rails have been used by many people for a looong time.

Just got mine in the mail, really impressed with the quality. I'd put it just a small step below the quality of the RRS plate on my E-M1ii but at less than half the price. The height of the G9 with the plate installed is pretty much ideal for my hand so I'm quite happy.

Mine does not fit the Arca-Swiss dovetail at all. A complete waste of money.

I think I was able to get it on my Markins ballhead; would have to check the RRS and some others again to be certain.

Yeah, it works fine with my Markins ballhead and a few other generic options.

I received this L bracket yesterday and it fits the G9 perfectly.

It's solidly built, doesn't cover the battery compartment and, at full side extension allows for the screen to flip out to around 90%. At £30 it is a total bargain!

it looks nice but doesn't fit many ballheads/clamps
