G85 moiré

    The first time I've confirmed it. On a few other occasions there's been a hint. This is over hundreds of photos. I'm happy to have the extra sharpness at the cost of an odd failure.

    It's not even that dramatic an effect here, but I agree that I would almost always prefer to have overall sharpness in exchange for a few rare artifacts. Especially since moire can even be defeated in-camera by stopping down heavily (past f/11, say) in order to reduce your lens' sharpness with diffraction.

    Honestly, I notice the great feather detail in that shot a lot more than the artifact.

    Yes, the PL 100-400 does some very pleasing photos.
    In this case the light was fairly low and the ISO up to 1250 I think, so stopping down would've been at the expense of noise. That can of course also be addressed, in post.
