    Hi Everybody,

I cant seem to get the colors the same as the scene I am viewing.
Outside they seem washed out and too bright and inside too bright and a little too blue in the vf/lcd including playback.

I have tried every setting and it just doesn't do it.

The pictures come out fine though on the computer monitor..

My Gf3's vf/lcd colors are very accurate in comparison.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks very much,

    Hi welcome,

It might be good to share some more info and possibly 1 or 2 of the images in question.

    1. Are you shooting Jpeg or RAW?
    2. What setting are you using for WB?

This is something I haven't noticed on my G5, but I only shoot raw with Auto WB on. Probably doesn't help that I'm severely color blind as well.

I started with auto wb, standard color, vf/lcd at middle settings.
Then I started trying all different settings from there.

I have read the Ergonomic article. It's very informative.

He said in the GH3 vf/lcd adjustment " I can adjust the GH3 until the EVF colors appear mostly natural in bright light, low light, high and low levels of subject brightness range. That is not possible with either the GH2 or G5."

There is only a problem when taking the picture and in review. The resultant photos look great though on my computer screen.

They are just pretty off and bright when using to view scene before taking picture.

Maybe it's normal or I just got a bad one?

    My gf3's vf/lcd is fine.

Go to page 72 of the online menu.

    (Here's the link)

It shows how to set the brightness, color intensity and tint of the viewfinder to match the scene.

from my experience the EVF is more accurate than the LCD on G5 during playback

Thanks, but I know all those adjustments from the users manual.
    I guess it's just a defective unit.
The vf/lcd is only good for framing subjects on mine.

I hope the g6 is better...

On a slightly different point here but... I realise that the G5 has the automatic switching between screen and evf unlike the G3, but I can't find anything here about whether or not the evf stays on when the screen is 'closed' (as it does on the G3) or does it still rely on the eye sensor, like an OM D with screen switched off?
