G5 Electronic Shutter Setting Question

    Does enabling the electronic shutter feature on the G5 help prevent shutter shock effect (will my pics look any sharper)?

    Electronic shutter will eliminate shutter shock. Whether that makes your photos any sharper very much depends on why they're not sharp enough in the first place :)

    Yes, but exactly where and by how much will depend on your lens.

    Did you read the recent thread I started: It's also well worth reading the blog that Andrew linked to.

    The issue with using the electronic shutter with fast moving targets is that the shutter takes around 1/10 sec to scan the sensor. Hence the advice to revert to mechanical shutter over 1/400, when any shutter shock should have disappeared.
