I haven't yet taken the cd out of the envelope, and since I generally loathe the software put out by hardware manufacturers, I figured I'd ask if it's worth installing. Or should I skip it, and just get Lightroom?

Also, will Lightroom 3 work well with my G3? I'm still on XP and Lightroom 4 requires at least Vista.

I have yet to use any manufacturer software for post processing my images. I use LR, and version 3.X will work fine with your G3 files. If you are not familiar with LR, then know that there is a bit of a learning curve to understand the logic behind how LR works. If you do decide to give it a try, then I would strongly suggest Lightroom Forums . They are a friendly and helpful bunch of folks, and the forums are quite active.

    Good luck,

The factory software is Silkypix - it's, um, "less than intuitive".

If you stick it out, it's effective, but, wow it's confusing

Silkypix is slow, and the output quality isn't good imo, definitely not worth installing.

Thanks for the quick responses. Great, the cd will become a coaster, and I'll use LR3.
