Hi all. I had a question regarding how the exposure works on the G3. I take a lot of photos of my dog (see attached photo). He has a white stripe on his head, and I have to change the exposure dramatically when I am focusing on the white stripe vs. the rest of his face. This is when I am shooting in P-mode with point focus. There don't seem to be such wild swings in exposure when I shoot in iAuto-mode. Is there any way to make the auto-exposure take into account a larger area so that focusing on a tiny white area doesn't require such a large change in exposure?

What metering mode do you have it in?

Sounds like you're in spot or possibly center-weighted metering mode.

You can change it on the 2nd page of the Rec menu or through Q. menu
