    I enjoy very much shooting "walls", more if they are old ones, to capture their "texture", color, nuance...

    I love textures. I use them a lot in my photos.

    Some times I blend a texture with an existing image as in the example below. There was a plain white painted background here but I blended in a texture (and also added the graffitti.)

    Sometimes I just take a texture and use it as a background as in this shot from yesterday.

    I used to shoot a lot of textures myself. In fact I have a folder with nearly 400 of them.

    I have to admit that nowadays I find it easier to use somewhere like cgtextures.com. For 60euro a year they offer virtually unlimited downloads of full size 10-20 megapixel textures with a selection of something like 50,000

    Also for those who like textures there is an interesting plug in from Totally Rad called 'Dirty pictures' which helps you blend textures into your images.
