I had that lens for years, it's a good, fun lens and cheap too. It's also how I got into m4/3. I had a pair of D700s, the 28-105. It was the smallest and lightest lens I owned (next to my 35mm f/2). My wife and I were heading on a road trip vacation. I picked up an E-PM1 kit (smaller/lighter that the 28-105 alone), I was hooked.

D700 + 55mm Micro-Nikkor AF-D. Very slow AF but it seems to hit its mark more often than my Oly 60.

Just bought a 5D and some lenses recently, so went out to the beach to take pictures. I saw these two girls dressing up, changing outfits and taking pictures of each other/together with their cellphone. I approached them and asked them if they would like for me to take pictures of them with my camera and I would email them the pictures. Turns out that they've been doing "photoshoots" for the past 10 years at this beach, sort of like a best-friend anniversary thing. We rushed taking pictures as the beach was closing, 10 minutes according to the time stamp. A bit on the cheesy side, but they loved them.

Nice camera but I sold it because I couldn't cope with some (imo) decisive design faults like lack of grip, stupid front wheel and especially too few and too much centered focus points.
I've still got a collection of Nikkor glass, I might buy a Sony A7 (generation III with all minor issues ironed out). But I'll miss the sensor of the Df!
