Funny you should post this...I'm waiting for the E-M5, but the new battery for it isn't even available!

I'm waiting for the E-M5 too, but I have a feeling, I'll be receiving the E-M5 before I get my hands on the Fuji..

Got to try one briefly at Henry's in Toronto. One handsome camera.

I shot the X-Pro 1 today at Yodobashi Camera and loved the way the camera felt in my hands. The solid metal body and positive clicks in the knobs were a welcomed touch. The viewfinder was not bad, and I like the glowing white border inside. I dunno why, but the images were being cropped and I didn't understand why?

Were you using the viewfinder in 'hybrid' mode? If so, the viewfinder is showing you more than the sensor is seeing. That's standard practice for rangefinders, and can be a rather handy compositional aid, assuming you can see the frame-lines in the OVF.

The X-Pro 1 body is apparently made for Fujifilm by the same contractor who made the Hasselblad XPan I and II (Fujifilm TX-1 and TX-2), the Contax G1 and G2, the Konica Hexar AF and RF rangefinder camera and the Fujifilm X-100 and X-10 as well as several Fujifilm medium format film cameras.

Not surprisingly there is a family resemblance between all of these and they share a quality feel. I can only hope that the latest Fujifilm cameras don't share the tendency of the XPan and Hexar RF to shed black paint from their top and bottom plates because of poor adherence to the titanium alloy used. I know it is only cosmetic, but ...
