Here are a few more places to look, where there are photographs that look much better. All courtesy of Fujifilm Finepix x100 News & Rumors:

P.S. Just merged the two Fuji X100 sample threads so we could obsess more easily. I also brought the Fuji threads in here to Other Systems.

Yeah, I think it must be that. There is just no way that after all this time and design, that this camera will produce such bad pictures for everyone. Otherwise we'll all run off the edge of the cliff!

If memory serves me, there are some other links over at that Fuji Rumors site, but those that I posted are the most recent and they looked pretty good to me. Of course they are still jpeg only and still via a preproduction camera, which is important to remember.

It's a marketing ploy. You look at these crappy images and think...
I can do better and make this camera sing.
If they posted amazing images, many would think...
I could never do that...

Let me get one of these...I'll show ya some photos...
R U listening Fuji?

This is the Asia CNet image I liked, kinda cool side by side.

Hello and welcome BFocused! I'm afraid for now the answer about focus will have to come from one of the referenced referenced blogs or Fuji's site.

As far as I know, only a select number of individual photographers in different countries were given prototype X100s to try.

OK, so where can I buy one?
My thoughts exactly. I've just been through all the samples and they look very good to me. The high ISO performance looks as good as those first samples indicated. There's a shot of a strawberry stall at ISO 3200 which is very good indeed and though things get at bit messy at 12,800 they are probably slightly better than my Pentax K-5 which gets rave reviews for its low light results.

So style AND content it seems. Irresistible.

This camera better deliver. I sold my GF1 kit to get it.
It looks very good.

Da wife sayz sell before you buy.
She let's me do anything I want as long as it's what she wants.
She like others loves the look of the camera.

Can't wait for a raw file that can be processed.

David, just so you know...I pretty much paraphrased your post over on Serious Compacts, so double thanks to you.:2thumbs:

I really hope that the camera stores around our different venues will be able to provide enough for all of us who are ready to roll. I have to keep telling myself that if I can't be in on this first go round that it is really OK. My enthusiasm doesn't believe me, but I do know it's true. :daz:

Here's how I look at it. It's either the X100 or the f.95 25mm. There is not that much price difference between the two, and with the X100 I get autofocus.

Youse ain't getting rid of me that easy.
I can smell the Pen3 in the distance...
Hope to have you back among the :43:users soon Shooter.

So I guess you now have to depend on your trusty M4 since you have sold your camera:thumbup:

I am starting to feel REALLY outdated as I am planing to continue using my OLD E-P1 in 2011 too, maybe get some new glass. But it is really interesting to follow the X100 news. Looks like this will be a good one!
