I have a nice clean copy of a 40/1.8. It does have a a small ding in the filter thread. I haven't tried it but I suspect it might make putting a filter on problematic. Otherwise the glass is clean and clear (as far as I can tell) with no oil on the aperture blades and minimal dust. No front or rear caps.
