Just learned that certain libraries have organizational access to the full lynda.com site. All you need is your library card and pin to access it for free. Monthly lynda.com subscription is currently priced at $30/month. For any that are unfamiliar, lynda.com has many educational videos on various tech-related subjects, including lots of material on photography - it's a great learning resource. Near me, the Washington DC library participates, and DC library system has reciprocity with Alexandria, VA where I live, so all I had to do was get a DC library card. Follow this link and enter the url of your library to see if it participates:

Yeah you may have to click through the website to find where to enter the url. You can also Google "lynda library access" and there are several results describing how to do it.

Just checked and mine how has it. Looks like it was recently added.

Another service mine offers that I have been taking advantage of for a while is Freegal Music. Basically music offered through Sony and my library allows five free downloads a week.

Oh this is great news! I was a subscriber a couple years ago, and really like it, but stopped after several months due to cost. I've only been living here in Knox County, TN for a year, and haven't gotten a library card yet. But it appears the Knox County library system has access to Lynda.com training classes...

Heading to the library tomorrow to get my card. Thanks!

No, thankfully we are in beautiful Oregon. Moved here in 2009. I can’t imagine the traffic there these days.
